There are 3.2 million bacteria in the toilet bowl of an ordinary bathroom alone, most especially in toilet stalls. All these germs can spread everywhere with these bad habits without us even knowing. This can result in stomach upset or even acne.

How can we avoid these mistakes we make every day in our bathrooms? Especially as we’re curious about them.

BE CAREFUL WITH THE LAST HABIT

1. HAVING YOUR BIKINI AREA SHAVED

Having hair on your bikini area is natural and skin shaving it can have a serious effect on the skin. Firstly they’re very attractive to the opposite gender because of the pheromones they contain. They also serve as protection from foreign bacteria.

We damage our skin when we involve in skin shaving.

The necessary precautions you should take:

  1. Make use of a special skin shaving cream made for women if you want to be totally clean down there, they are; skin shaving cream for intimate hygiene and women’s razor. Seeing as the skin there is very sensitive, do not use soap. Also, it is important that you clean hair out of the sink drain when you’re done.

2. USING A LUFFA

You should only use a luffa when it’s new. After that, it can get into your sponge and remain there, after it must have scrubbed off the dead skins. As usual, you’ll leave the luffa in the bathroom once you’re done with it and this allows bacteria to enter into it.

The bacteria keep growing whenever you leave your luffa after washing it. The dirt goes back to your skin when you use it again.

  2. Do not leave it in the bathroom and allow it to dry
  3. Make use of items like washcloths that are reusable.
  4. Instead of using luffa, exfoliate twice weekly.

3. NOT WASHING EVERY PART OF YOUR BODY

A clean body is protected from acne and bacteria. This means that your body has to be completely clean. Most times, we skip our back, behind our ears, scalp and the bottom of our feet while bathing.

4. KEEPING YOUR TOOTHBRUSH ON THE COUNTER

I can’t even imagine the number of bacteria that lives in the bathroom, you need to understand that it is not the cleanest place in the house. We all don’t want germs to get into our toothbrush and the toilet stall is close to the bathroom, making it a risky place.

  1. Look for somewhere that is far from the toilet stall to keep your toothbrush
  2. Make sure that every 3 months, your toothbrush is replaced.

5. BRINGING YOUR GADGETS TO THE BATHROOM WITH YOU

A lot of people take their gadgets with them to the bathroom. Even though we clean our hands after using it in the toilet, we don’t clean our phones. We’ll then take our phone and put on a table when we’re eating after using it in the toilet.

The necessary precautions you should take:

Put a game in your bathroom, if you get bored when using it. Games like Rubik’s Cube are ideal but don’t forget to wash it also.

6. WASHING YOUR FACE WITH A TOWEL

Most especially for people who have skin problems, using a towel to wash your face is dangerous, even if it’s a special towel for your face only. An enabling environment for bacteria is created when you use the same towel to clean your face and leave it wet.

By using disposable towels, you’re saving your skin and you don’t need to bother yourself washing towels.
